the webbrowser xscope is not using multitouch. It uses single touch but very effectively: You tap once and immediately do a tap and hold down your finger. If you then slide your finger left it will zoom out, if you slide it right it will zoom in. After letting go the text is reformatted to fit the new margins of the column width. Xscope runs on my wife's freerunner on android. So it is the same hardware.
