:The variometer resolution from flytek variometers is 0.1 m/s, the SMD500 has a resolution of 0.25 m, which would make 0.25 m/s at 1 measurement per second, if averaged over a few seconds this could be increased. Also it may be possible to take measurements at a higher rate, since one measurement takes 34 ms from what I understand from the specs. Vario

Hi PTT - I like your contributions to the Variometer page. I did not know about those nifty digital output pressure transducers. I am a little concerned about differentiating the digital signal in software - don't think it would make a good vario. I guess we have to build it and test.
