Hi Michael, we seem to have a collision between : Download#Developer and Download#The_bleeding_edge:_Om_.22base_.2F_empty.22_images. I believed that "testing" feeds were build from the ".dev" branch (trunk actually) going to the next major release, that's why I moved it out from under 2008.8 / ASU. This is not the case ? Not sure. I've not been following that thread closely enough.
You seem to have excellent insight. If you're confident, go ahead. If I said something that disagrees with your understanding, most likely it's my misunderstanding.

I had a second look yesterday. The .asu.dev branch just closed, and it looks like the "/testing/" feed is indeed meant to provide packages applicable to 2008.8 and sequels, so that there is a working upgrade path. But I am still confused big time about those "testing" feeds: do they come from "org.openmoko.asu.testing" or from "org.openmoko.dev" ? If it's the second option, should this be changed ?
