February 23: Meeting at FOSDEM

February 27th-March 1st the O'Reilly Emerging Telephony conference will be held at the San Francisco Airport Mariott, Burlingame, CA. Open Phones are on the agenda: Sean will be presenting a workshop on February 27; Surj Patel and Matt Hamrick of Tuxphone and the homebrew club are also presenting.ETel

An OpenMoko/Open Phones Social gathering is proposed on the evening of the last day, March 1. We hope Tuxphone and SVHMPC people will join us as well.ETel

On March 15-18, 2007 there will be Polish Linux User Group conference Pingwinaria 2007 in Poland, Krynica. Tomasz Zieliński will give a talk about OpenMoko and (hopefully) Neo1973 device will be present there. Also Marcin Juszkiewicz will present OpenEmbedded project there.

According to a posting on the announcement list, Neo1973 phones are expected to be available to the general public in September, 2007.
