Before you edit things like: 'tar xzf' to 'tar --extract --gzip --file' in [[Manual_Debian]] use your head and think how often you rather want to type 27 letters instead of 7 in your terminal.... | Before you edit things like: 'tar xzf' to 'tar --extract --gzip --file' in [[Manual_Debian]] use your head and think how often you rather want to type 27 letters instead of 7 in your terminal....
it is absolutely useless to write these arguments out because '''EVERYBODY''' knows what the tar arguments xzf and czf mean - oh and btw in recent versions of tar you can leave out the f parameter. | it is absolutely useless to write these arguments out because '''EVERYBODY''' knows what the tar arguments xzf and czf mean - oh and btw in recent versions of tar you can leave out the f parameter.

JoSch's rant about one of my edits
Before you edit things like: 'tar xzf' to 'tar --extract --gzip --file' in Manual_Debian use your head and think how often you rather want to type 27 letters instead of 7 in your terminal.... it is absolutely useless to write these arguments out because EVERYBODY knows what the tar arguments xzf and czf mean - oh and btw in recent versions of tar you can leave out the f parameter. --JoSch 09:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
