These scripts work for the german provider simyo which is the pre-paid brand of E-Plus.
Beware that these scripts sometimes fail, I usually need 2-4 tries to get a connection.
These scripts were taken and modified from a forum post about getting gprs to work with simyo.

I had to change simyo-connect-chat (the above one always ended with "alarm Failed"), so my simyo-connect-chat now looks like this:
